Poetry Perfection
by Barb DeFreytas of Ferndale, WA

I dreamed
The perfect poem
In the night
But
In the morning light
The words
Took flight.
Saddened by the loss
For
I planned to toss
My un-blemished thoughts
Into the sauce
And
Come out with
Something magnificent
But
That was not to be
For
I lost the key
And
All I could find
Was
Night time debris.

Untitled
by William J. Battenberg

Grass is green,
go deep into the night
breath fresh air and dream.
Stars twinkling gracefully and bright.
Mind moves rational to hypnotic.
Closed eyes.
Hold tight.
Thrill will soon begin.
Best experience of life.
Hope it never ends.
